Pepe Martí and Arvid Lindblad Complete Three Productive Days of Testing at Yas Marina Circuit

The two Campos Racing drivers consistently posted competitive lap times in both qualifying runs and race simulations at the wheel of their Red Bull-liveried cars

The engines of FIA Formula 2 fell silent this Friday, marking the end of on-track activities until the pre-season tests in 2025. Campos Racing and their drivers, Pepe Martí and Arvid Lindblad, took part in the collective tests organized by the category at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. In total, the Spanish and British drivers completed 355 laps between them, achieving significant mileage while conducting both qualifying and race simulations to test different setups with low and high fuel loads.

The tests, which began on Wednesday, saw a strong performance from the Campos Racing drivers. Barcelona-born Martí was third in the morning session with a time of 1m37.125s. Lindblad, focused on gaining as much experience as possible with the Formula 2 car, set a best time of 1m37.680s. In the afternoon, Martí recorded a slightly slower time than in the morning, completing a lap in 1m37.414s. Lindblad was just three-tenths behind with his personal best lap of 1m37.782s.

On Thursday, with the track offering more grip, the times improved, especially in the first session with cooler temperatures. In the morning, Martí stopped the clock at 1m36.051s, placing him among the top seven of the session, while the British Lindblad improved his best time to 1m36.308s. In the afternoon session, with most drivers completing long runs, Lindblad set a lap time of 1m38.664s, while Martí's reference time was 1m40.061s.

Finally, on Friday, both Lindblad and Martí posted very similar times in the morning with laps of 1m36.222s and 1m36.407s respectively. In the afternoon, with the track slower again due to atmospheric conditions, Martí topped the time sheets with a lap of 1m37.351s. Lindblad, focused on race simulations, recorded a best time of 1m41.266s.

Despite Christmas being just around the corner, the work will not stop as the drivers, engineers, and mechanics will have a demanding task analyzing all the data obtained to draw the necessary conclusions for 2025.
