Merhi contributes with his experience to Campos Racing´s progress. Boschung shows quick learning curve on his first outing with a Formula 2 car

Formula 2´s first preseason testing came to an end at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya today. Switzerland´s Ralph Boschung and Spain´s Roberto Merhi completed a valuable three-day test at the wheel of both Dallara cars of Campos Racing logging hundreds of laps.

Merhi focused on gaining a better understanding of the behavior of the car but the Castellon-born driver adapted quickly to the Formula 2 car, which is much more demanding than the LMP2 car that he piloted last year. On the other hand, Boschung made a positive impression on Campos Racing. On his first outing with a F.2 car, Ralph proved to be extremely competitive despite fierce competitiveness in the FIA Formula Two Championship and made steady progress throughout this week.

Day one proved to be a useful dress rehearsal for Tuesday and Wednesday. Merhi and Boschung tried both qualifying and race runs. Merhi clocked times worthy of a top 5 spot both on Tuesday and Wednesday with his laps of 1:30.053 and 1:31.057 respectively. Boschung also made it into the top-ten both days, ranking 6th fastest today with his lap of 1:31.706, less than eight tenths off the pace on his debut in the main Formula feeder series.

The second collective testing will run for three days in Bahrain on 29-31 March.
