Tereschenko scored another race win in the series and made every effort to claim the drivers´ championship but missing out on the title by only five points. Menchaca finished second and claimed his first Euroformula Open podium
Konstantin Tereschenko has proven his driving skills throughout the season and despite Campos Racing driver couldn´t take the Euroformula Open title, his season was extremely positive. Today, Russian Tereschenko romped to sixth victory of the season ahead of his teammate Mexico´s Diego Menchaca.
In the morning, Tereschenko set pole position time with an impressive lap record of 1:39.997. Menchaca also performed pretty well and qualified third on the starting grid. Henrique Baptista and Ahmad Al Ghanem were 15th and 19th respectively.
When the lights went out, Tereschenko kept the lead with Menchaca gaining one place and moving up to second. Both Campos Racing drivers set strong, consistently unmatched pace. With Tereschenko posting today´s fastest lap time, he finished the race first three seconds clear of Menchaca. In spite of Tereschenko was frustrated as he wasn´t able to take the title, the vice-champion was comforted by support of Campos Racing family.
With Tereschenko and Menchaca first and second, Al Ghanem was 15th and Baptista came 16th. The Brazilian pilot was forced to pit to change front wing.
