Another good weekend for Campos Racing and Corsica´s racer with a fourth place in the main race

The “Green Hell” brought another positive result for Campos Racing and Corsican John Filippi. At the wheel of his Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1, the promising young French talent performed excellently well at the mammoth track, which hosted the fifth round of the World Touring Car Championship.

On the opening day, Filippi ranked 5th in the WTCC Trophy standings with a lap time of 8:59.742 set during test session. Then, after two free practice sessions – in which drivers had a taste of usual Nürburbring weather-, Filippi found some extra pace to go fastest in qualifying. Filippi clocked a time of 8:48.687, 5th fastest in class.

Despite Filippi was forced to retire in the opening race, he took the grid for race two (main race). There, Campos Racing driver completed the 3-lap race – but almost 30-min in length!- and took fourth behind Tom Chilton and Mehdi Bennani, with two Citroën E-Elysée WTCC cars, and Nurburgring-Nordschleife expert Sabine Schmitz. Filippi scored valuable points in drivers´ championship.

The WTCC Race of Russia will take place on 10-12 June.
