This upcoming weekend, the drivers of Campos Racing and Griffin Core by Campos will travel to Motorland Aragón to take on the opening round of the 2025 F4 Spain season. A total of six drivers, all young and promising talents aiming to reach the pinnacle of motorsport, will line up on the grid representing the Alzira-based team. Vivek Kanthan, Miguel Costa, and Noah Monteiro will race for Campos Racing, while Thomas Strauven, Jan Przyrowski, and Matúš Ryba will compete under the Griffin Core by Campos banner.

All of them have ambitious goals in a championship that promises to be fiercely competitive, as demonstrated during the Winter Series held in recent weeks. It was in these Winter Series that Strauven and Przyrowski claimed the champion and runner-up titles, respectively, with their Tatuus single-seaters from Griffin Core by Campos. The Belgian driver secured two victories and five additional podium finishes in nine races, while the Polish driver claimed four wins, results that earned them top spots in the overall standings.

American driver Kanthan was the best performer among the Campos Racing drivers, finishing fifth in the final Winter Series standings with four podium finishes. Meanwhile, Brazilian Costa and Portuguese Monteiro also made it to the podium at least once. Slovakian driver Ryba likewise delivered strong performances, frequently ranking among the top finishers in the races held at Jerez, Portimão, and Los Arcos.

These promising results allow the team to approach the first three races with optimism at a venue rich in motorsport history: Alcañiz. Motorland, with its 5,344-meter layout, is one of the most well-known tracks among the drivers due to the numerous pre-season test sessions held there. Its configuration for single-seaters features 18 corners, with a highly technical first sector, followed by a much faster final sector, thanks to the long back straight where slipstreaming plays a crucial role in overtaking. The heavy braking zones at the end of this straight and at the first left-hand corner after the start/finish line are the key overtaking spots.

After Alcañiz, the championship will continue in Los Arcos (May 3-4), Portimão (June 7-8), Le Castellet (June 21-22), Jerez (September 20-21), Valencia (October 18-19), and Barcelona (November 15-16).

The schedule includes free practice sessions on Saturday morning, followed by the first qualifying session at 11:55. Race 1, lasting 30 minutes plus one lap, will take place that same afternoon at 16:55. On Sunday, drivers will return to the track at 08:30 for the second qualifying session. Race 2, scheduled for 25 minutes plus one lap, will begin at 11:50, while the third and final race will start at 17:25, lasting 30 minutes plus one lap. All races will be streamed live on the championship’s official YouTube channel. All times are in Spanish local time.

Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): "We are really looking forward to kicking off the 2025 F4 Spain season, as we have a fantastic lineup of talented drivers, as demonstrated in the Winter Series. As always, competition is incredibly tight in a category like F4, where the smallest details can make the difference between securing pole position or starting outside the top ten. Our main objective is to provide our drivers with all our experience and race management expertise to start the year in the best possible way. It will be crucial to perform well in qualifying and then avoid incidents in the races, as these are often compromised by collisions within the pack, which can ruin an entire weekend."

Thomas Strauven (Griffin Core by Campos Driver in F4 Spain): “After a strong preparation with the Winter Championship, I can’t wait to start the Spanish F4 Championship. The ambition remains the same: to fight for the title. I’m ready for it!”
