Campos Racing and Griffin Core by Campos will head to southern Spain for the penultimate round of the 2024 season
The 2024 F4 Spain season is gradually approaching its end, and this coming weekend, the Circuito de Jerez will host the penultimate race of this year. Campos Racing will field its three Tatuus single-seaters for James Egozi, Nathan Tye, and Enzo Tarnvanichkul, while Griffin Core by Campos will do the same with Ernesto Rivera, Jan Przyrowski, and Andrés Cárdenas.
After five meetings at Jarama, Algarve, Le Castellet, Motorland Aragón, and Cheste, Mexican driver Rivera occupies fourth place in the overall drivers’ standings with 108 points. Rivera claimed his first win in the second F4 Spain race in Portimão and also secured a second place at the season opener in Madrid. Above all, Rivera is a highly consistent driver, having finished in the top-5 five times and scoring points in twelve races. American driver Egozi is in eighth place and is also a regular points scorer, with two podium finishes at Circuit Paul Ricard being his best results so far.
Despite some misfortune at Campos Racing’s home race in Valencia, Przyrowski is another driver who is always in contention for a podium spot. The Polish driver finished third at Jarama and is almost always in the mix for a podium finish. Both Tye and Tarnvanichkul have also tasted podium success this season. The British driver finished second in Portugal and again a couple of races later in Alcañiz, while the Thai driver secured third place at Motorland and more recently in Valencia. Peruvian driver Cárdenas, after several races without scoring due to various incidents, returned to the points in Cheste with sixth and seventh place finishes a few weeks ago.
The Circuito de Jerez, with its slightly over four kilometers, always promises very close and open F4 races. Despite this, overtaking is not easy due to the number of consecutive corners, and a good starting position always favors the final result.
The schedule includes free practice on Saturday morning, followed by the first qualifying session at 12:20. Race 1, lasting 30 minutes plus one lap, will start that afternoon at 14:30. On Sunday, the drivers will take to the track at 09:00 for the second qualifying session. The second race, scheduled for 25 minutes plus one lap, will begin at 11:10. Finally, the third and last race will take place at 16:00, lasting 30 minutes plus one lap. All the action can be followed live on the championship’s YouTube channel. All times are local (Spanish time zone).
Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “We will continue fighting to be in the hunt for victories and podiums in Jerez. It’s a very tight season, and a few tenths can make the difference between being on pole position or out of the top ten. We will give our best to achieve the best possible results in Jerez.”
Enzo Tarnvanichkul (Campos Racing Driver in F4 Spain): “After coming off two solid racing weekends, my intentions are to repeat this form. It’s always quite tight, especially on a short track like Jerez! Nevertheless, we’ve prepared well, and I’m super motivated to push for another good result with the team!”
