The Spain-based team has confirmed Sebastian Øgaard, Pepe Martí and Álex García for its attack on the Formula 4-based racing series in 2021
Campos Racing is delighted to confirm three young talents for its Spanish Formula 4 Championship programme. Denmark’s Sebastian Øgaard, Spaniard Pepe Martí and Mexico’s Álex García will defend the Campos Racing colors.
Øgaard will complete his second season as a single-seater racing driver after he contested the F4 Danish Championship, in which he ranked third with four wins to his name, and the Italian Formula 4 Championship. Øgaard will make his debut in the Spanish debut racing to be a title contender.
Martí, at just 15 years of age, is a Barcelona-born driver who will be embarking on his maiden year of single-seater action after a successful racing career in karting. Martí made his debut in the Catalan karting series back in 2017 finishing third in the rankings before making his Junior class debut a year later. He was crowned Spanish Champion in 2019 and finished fourth in the CIK FIA held in Finland. More recently, the young Spanish ace took 7th-place finish in the prestigious CIK FIA World Championship, which was held a few months ago highlighting in OK class. Besides, with the clear goal to gain more experience after his successful period in karting, Martí will also contest the UAE’s Formula 4 series to properly prepare his challenge in the F4 Spain.
García is revving up for his second season in the Spain’s premier single-seater series. The young Mexican talent finished 5th in the FIA Formula 4 Nacam before making his debut in Europe. García aims to make a strong run in the Spanish Formula 4 Championship with two years’ experience under his belt in single-seater racing.
Campos Racing and its Formula 4 drivers already completed their first collective tests last December ahead of their official debut in the series at Jarama, the season opener of the 7-round calendar, next 10-11 April.
