The trios composed of Rivera, Przyrowski, and Cárdenas, representing Griffin Core by Campos; and Egozi, Tye, and Tarnvanichkul, for Campos Racing; will wrap up the current campaign at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
The 2024 F4 Spain season faces its final hours with the seventh and last event scheduled for this coming weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Campos Racing and Griffin Core by Campos will head to the track aiming to finish the year with the best possible results. Representing Campos Racing will be James Egozi, Nathan Tye, and Enzo Tarnvanichkul, while Ernesto Rivera, Jan Przyrowski, and Andrés Cárdenas will be competing for Griffin Core by Campos.
This weekend will be marked by the human tragedy of the DANA storm that devastated the metropolitan area of Valencia. Consequently, the cars from Alzira will display the Valencian Community flag with a black ribbon in tribute to all the victims of this natural disaster that has claimed so many lives.
In terms of racing itself, Rivera currently holds fifth place in the standings. After a weekend in Jerez a few weeks ago where he narrowly missed the podium, Rivera aims to return to the success he enjoyed at the Algarve International Autodrome. The Mexican, who also finished second at Jarama, has shown solidity and consistency at all the circuits visited by the championship. The same can be said for American Egozi, who finished second and third at Paul Ricard and will try to bring his Red Bull-coloured car back to the podium.
Polish driver Przyrowski and Briton racer Tye are also familiar with podium finishes in the highly competitive F4 Spain category, and both will strive to deliver their best performance in Barcelona. Thai driver Tarnvanichkul, another member of the Red Bull Junior Team, finished third at Cheste and will look to end the year on a high note. Finally, Peruvian driver Cárdenas, who knows the Montmeló circuit well, will be another serious contender during the Barcelona meeting.
In the team standings, Griffin Core by Campos holds third place with 187 points, while Campos Racing is fourth with 165 points.
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is a classic venue for the season finale of this F4 championship. The races are typically exciting and closely contested, and the long main straight offers plenty of opportunities for slipstreaming and overtaking at the first chicane.
The schedule includes free practice sessions on Saturday morning, followed by the first qualifying session at 12:00. Race 1, lasting 30 minutes plus one lap, will start that same afternoon at 14:05. On Sunday, the second qualifying session will begin at 09:00, with Race 2, lasting 25 minutes plus one lap, starting at 11:05. The third and final race, lasting 30 minutes plus one lap, will take place at 15:30. All the action can be followed via live streaming on the championship's YouTube channel. All times are local (Spanish).
Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): "This will be a season finale marked by the tragedy that struck Valencia a few days ago. We will keep all the victims of the DANA storm in our memory and thoughts. We will fight to achieve the best possible results in Barcelona, and hopefully, we can celebrate victories and podium finishes with our cars."
Ernesto Rivera (Griffin Core by Campos Driver in F4 Spain): “Considering we head into the season finale, I approach the event in high spirits and expecting to bring the curtain down with strong results, in order to thank my team for its effort throughout the year.”
