Campos Racing and Martí will extend link-up following a successful F4 Spain campaign and promising FIA F3 collective testing
Campos Racing is pleased to announce that Pepe Martí will contest the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship season driving one of its Dallara F3 2019 cars. Spaniard Martí becomes the team’s first announced driver for the upcoming season that will kick off in Bahrain on 19-20 March.
Martí will take his racing career another step forward following a successful debut in single-seater racing in the F4 Spain Championship season last year. The 16-year-old Spanish ace, defending the Campos Racing colors, proved his driving skills by taking two wins and other impressive seven podium finishes in the F4-based racing series throughout the 2021 season. Martí ranked third overall in the drivers’ standings with 196 points to his credit. Martí got his first taste of the F3 machinery during a collective test held in Valencia last November in which the Spaniard was the youngest racer in the 36-driver field and clocked promising lap times.
Campos Racing continues its philosophy of developing young talents at the highest level and giving them a chance to drive their cars just like Fernando Alonso, Antonio García, Álex Palou, Sergio Pérez or Lucas di Grassi among others before.
Adrián Campos (Campos Racing Sporting Director): “Our goal was always to have a racing team being able to open up opportunities of improving and growing as a racing driver from kart racing to the F1 feeder series. Therefore we also joined the F4-based racing series last year. Pepe is a superb example proving this because in my opinion he is one of the most talented racing drivers who never have competed with us. We are proud because he has chosen us to continue working together. He achieved fantastic results in F4 last year and we now have another huge challenge ahead but we are looking forward to completing a strong 2022 season.”
Pepe Martí (Campos Racing driver of FIA Formula 3): “I’m delighted to continue my racing career with Campos Racing for a further year. We completed a very strong work in 2021 and I think it’s the right choice to step up to FIA Formula 3 with the same team. I will continue learning and improving as a racing driver. We are extremely motivated to take up the challenge and give our best throughout 2022.”
