After a six-week hiatus, the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship season resumes at Silverstone for the fourth round of the season. July shall be an extremely busy weekend with no less than three race meetings, including Red Bull Ring and Hungaroring apart from Silverstone. The third tier of single-seater racing in the FIA Global Pathway will join both Formula 1 and Formula 2 in the frame of the British Grand Prix.

Campos Racing will enter its three Dallara F3 cars for American Hunter Yeany and Spaniards David Vidales and Pepe Martí. Despite Campos Racing chose the youngest driver line-up in the field, their young talents already showed their speed. Vidales is particularly shining on his own merit. The Spanish racer, who is the most experienced driver of Campos Racing in the Formula 3-based championship, claimed his maiden win in the series at his home round in Barcelona. Starting from pole position, Vidales fended off Jak Crawford’s charge to cross the finish line in first place. Besides, Vidales has finished in the points-paying position in three other races.

Despite Silverstone is a step into the unknown for them, they have extensively worked on the simulator to properly prepare this weekend. Vidales will set his sights on continuing in the hunt of new podiums and his teammates Yeany and Martí will be expecting to score their first points of the season on such an iconic circuit.

Silverstone is a very demanding track for tires due to high-speed nature. This said, changeable weather is another characteristic of Silverstone but, at this time, warm temperature could add extra stress for tires and F3 drivers could be forced to nurse their tires in both races. Pirelli has nominated P Zero White hard compound as the single compound this weekend.

Both free practice and qualifying sessions will take place on Friday at 10.35 and 16.00 respectively. Saturday’s Sprint race is scheduled at 10.55 with Sunday’s Feature race taking place at 09.35. All times are CET.

Adrián Campos (Campos Racing Team Principal): “Silverstone is a completely new circuit for our drivers but we have worked a lot to take the maximum out from Friday’s free practice session. We claimed our first win of the season in Barcelona and we expect to take another step forward as a team at Silverstone.”

David Vidales (Campos Racing Driver in FIA Formula 3): “I’m really excited to be racing in such an iconic track. I can't wait to jump into the car on Friday.”

Hunter Yeany (Campos Racing Driver in FIA Formula 3): “I’m really looking forward to Silverstone this weekend because after seeing the pace we had at Barcelona I think we can make a big step up”

Pepe Martí (Campos Racing Driver in FIA Formula 3): “I’m really excited going into Silverstone this weekend. It’s an amazing racetrack and not having raced there it’s going to be a completely new experience for me. I’m really looking forward to getting the weekend going and to keep working with the team to continue with our progress!.”
