Campos Racing, the reigning FIA Formula 3 champion team, kicked off post-season testing just as it ended the Monza finale — on top. The new line-up for 2026, already confirmed and formed by Théophile Naël, Ugo Ugochukwu and Ernesto Rivera, completed two extremely positive days of testing in preparation for next season. Moreover, Ugochukwu emerged as the fastest driver over the two days, followed by Rivera.

On Tuesday morning, when the drivers first hit the Andalusian asphalt early in the day, Ugochukwu was already the quickest of the Campos Racing trio in the morning session. The American driver set a best time of 1m31.223s, which placed him sixth overall, two positions ahead of Mexican driver Rivera, who clocked a 1m31.406s. As for Naël, the Frenchman’s best lap was 1m32.037s. In the afternoon, with track conditions slower due to high temperatures, the focus shifted towards long runs. For much of the session, the three Campos Racing drivers occupied the top spots, although late fast laps from other drivers shuffled the order slightly: Ugochukwu finished fourth (1m32.214s), Rivera tenth (1m32.410s) and Naël eleventh (1m32.416s).

On Wednesday, the Alzira-based squad went on the offensive. Ugochukwu set the benchmark time in Jerez with a 1m30.012s lap during the morning session. Demonstrating the strength of the Spanish outfit’s new trio, Rivera was second with a 1m30.209s, a time that also secured him the runner-up spot in the combined standings behind his American teammate. Naël, meanwhile, recorded a personal best of 1m30.873s. In the afternoon, although temperatures once again slowed lap times, Rivera and Ugochukwu swapped positions — the Red Bull Junior driver topping the session with a 1m30.605s, just ahead of Ugochukwu. Naël, with a 1m32.003s, placed sixth.

With plenty of data to analyze, Campos Racing now has several days of debriefing ahead before tackling the next FIA Formula 3 collective test, scheduled for October 15–16 at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
