Campos Racing Continues to Dominate in Collective Testing at Barcelona

Ugochukwu set the benchmark time on Wednesday, just a few thousandths quicker than Naël’s best effort on Thursday, which ultimately placed both Campos Racing drivers first and second overall. Rivera, who continues his rapid adaptation to the category, also featured among the leading names on the timesheets

It was a similar story and outcome to the previous week’s post-season FIA Formula 3 tests held in Jerez, as Campos Racing drivers once again showcased their supremacy during the autumn testing period across the Iberian Peninsula. This time at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the team’s trio of Ugo Ugochukwu, Théophile Naël, and Ernesto Rivera continued their outstanding pre-season preparation at the wheel of the Alzira-based squad’s cars.

On Wednesday morning, during the opening session of the two-day test, Ugochukwu posted what would remain the fastest lap overall, stopping the clocks at 1m28.322s — a time that proved untouchable thereafter. Naël followed closely with a 1m28.492s, while Rivera recorded a best lap of 1m29.096s. In the afternoon, despite warmer conditions that slowed the track, both Rivera and Ugochukwu still managed strong performances, ending the session second and third respectively with laps of 1m29.070s and 1m29.200s.

On the second day, the name at the top of the timesheets changed, but the team did not. This time it was Naël who set the pace, clocking a 1m28.398s — only 0.076 seconds shy of Ugochukwu’s benchmark from Wednesday. The Frenchman showed excellent form in a session briefly interrupted by a red flag just before midday, which cut short several drivers’ qualifying simulations. Ugochukwu and Rivera ended the morning in seventh and eighth place with best laps of 1m28.597s and 1m28.715s respectively. In the afternoon, with higher track temperatures once again slowing lap times, the focus shifted to longer race runs. Ugochukwu set a 1m32.465s, with Naël and Rivera close behind on 1m32.634s and 1m32.779s.

The drivers will return to action next week at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola for the final two days of collective testing on October 21–22, bringing the curtain down on track activity until 2026.
