The Spaniard will make his debut in the series with a Campos Racing-run Dallara to join previously announced Hunter Yeany and Pepe Martí. The trio will make up a young, solid and well-matched driver line-up
Campos Racing is delighted to officially announce David Vidales as its new driver for the upcoming 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship season. Therefore, the Spanish-based team has finalized its driver line-up as Pepe Martí and Hunter Yeany were also confirmed in previous weeks. With the signing of Vidales, who is another rising star in Spain, Campos Racing continues strengthening its key role assisting Spanish talents progress from karting to the pinnacle of motorsport just like Marc Gené, Fernando Alonso, Antonio García o Álex Palou before.
The 19-year-old driver was born in León and made his debut in karting racing in 2012. Vidales proved to be a real racing talent immediately as he finished 4th in the Spanish Championship that year. He won the Spanish series in the Cadet class the following two years and his racing successes went on by finishing Vice-Champion in the CIK-FIA World Championships in the OK-Junior, OK and KZ2 classes in three consecutive seasons among other top international results.
Vidales stepped up to single-seater racing in 2020 claiming two wins and other four podiums in the Formula Renault Eurocup. The Spanish youngster entered the F3 Asian Championship and the Formula Regional European Championship pushing further his wins and podium finishes.
Following fruitful post-season testing alongside his new teammates Yeany and Martí, Vidales is ready for his official race debut in the series, which will take place in Sakhir (Bahrain) next 19-20 March.
