The Colombian racing driver is the final addition to the driver line-up for next year. Montoya will team up with previously announced Oliver Goethe and Mari Boya
Campos Racing is proud to announce Sebas Montoya, who is completing the driver line-up of the Spanish-based racing team for the upcoming 2024 FIA Formula 3 Championship season. Montoya, who is a Red Bull Athlete, will race alongside Oliver Goethe and Mari Boya for the team to shape an experimented but young mix of international talents.
Montoya, who is the son of former Formula 1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya, was born in Miami (USA) and started racing in karting back in 2013 aged 8. After eight seasons in go-karts, which included top achievements such as winning the ROK the Rio – Junior ROK in 2018, the Colombian driver stepped up to single-seater racing in 2020. Montoya has contested several formulae series such as the Italian F4 Championship, the Formula Regional European Championship or, more recently, the FIA Formula 3 Championship. The Colombian racer made his debut in the Formula 3-based racing team with Campos Racing in 2022 scoring points in both races held at Zandvoort. In addition, Montoya has also entered selected rounds of endurance events in the USA and Europe, demonstrating to be an all-rounder.
The new signing of Campos Racing carried out all the three post-season testing with the Spanish squad, there Montoya completed a strong work ahead of the 2024 season. Last but not least, Montoya already entered the Macau F3 Grand Prix under the Campos Racing banner.

He is a very talented driver, as he already proved scoring points twice on his debut in FIA F3 with Campos Racing, and we will work as hard as possible in order to allow him unleash his full potential. Sebas left us plenty of positives during post season testing and the very best of his racing career is still to come. Sebas, Oliver and Mari are a young driver line-up but with plenty of experience and races under their belt in FIA F3. The 2024 season looks exciting ahead for Campos Racing!”
Sebas Montoya (Campos Racing Driver of FIA Formula 3): “I am really excited to be joining Campos Racing for the upcoming FIA Formula 3 season. To be honest, we have had a nice learning curve immediately in testing after making my comeback to the team. Macau didn’t exactly bring us the result we were expecting. But the potential is there and we just need to maximize our options. We know our car is strong, enough to score points on a regular basis and hopefully we will able to fight for podiums and wins.”
