The 2024 FIA Formula 3 season will resume and conclude this very weekend at Monza, a circuit that will host the grand finale during the F1 Italian Grand Prix. Campos Racing will field its three Dallara F3 cars for Mari Boya, Sebas Montoya, and Noah Strømsted, with the Danish driver being the main novelty as he replaces Oliver Goethe, who is moving up to FIA Formula 2 for the remaining races.

German-Danish driver Goethe arrives at this final round seventh in the drivers’ standings with 94 points. Goethe has scored points in 15 of the 18 races held so far, including a triumph at Imola, a second-place finish at the same Italian track, and a third-place finish in the Barcelona sprint race.

Boya has already tasted success, having won the Saturday race held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The driver from the Val d'Aran, who has scored points on seven other occasions, will aim to achieve the best possible result in qualifying and thus maximize his chances of ending the year on a high note.

Montoya was rewarded for his efforts throughout the year at Spa-Francorchamps. The Colombian driver, known for his heroic comebacks by overtaking numerous rivals in previous races, secured a second-place finish on the Belgian podium. Montoya has also finished in the points in five other races.

As mentioned, the big news of the weekend is the addition of the young Strømsted. The Dane, who is already familiar with the Valencian team after participating with us in F4 Spain last year, will make his FIA Formula 3 debut with the goal of learning and improving as he gains more experience behind the wheel of the Dallara F3.

In the teams’ standings, Campos Racing holds fourth place with a total of 175 points.

Monza, along with Spa-Francorchamps and Silverstone, is one of the most iconic circuits in European motorsport. Its 5.793 kilometers are characterized by extremely high top-speeds, where slipstreaming plays a key role in both qualifying and the race. The setup requires low downforce, which increases tire wear due to the need for maximum mechanical grip. Additionally, having a well-balanced car is crucial for the heavy braking zones in the chicanes.

Free practice will take place on Friday at 9:35, while qualifying, which will be split into two groups (even and odd-numbered cars), will start at 15:00 and 15:21. The sprint race is scheduled for Saturday at 9:30, while the feature race on Sunday is set for 8:35. All times are in the Spanish time zone.

Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “We’re back for the final FIA F3 event of the season, which will bring the curtain down on a great year. We’re excited about these last two races and hopeful that our drivers can finish as high as possible and secure a good haul of points to cap off the season.”

Mari Boya (Campos Racing driver in FIA Formula 3):   “I’m looking forward to competing at the season finale because Monza is a track bring me back fond memories.”

Sebastián Montoya (Campos Racing driver in FIA Formula 3): “Very happy to be back racing after the summer break! Monza is always a super cool track with a lot of history and speed! The racing is always a lot of fun and after the last podium in Spa I can’t wait to get back to it!.”
