The Briton will be at the wheel of a Campos Racing-run Dallara F2 2018 and joins previously announced Ralph Boschung
Campos Racing is pleased to welcome back Olli Caldwell to the team for the 2022 FIA Formula 2 Championship season. Caldwell is set to drive the No. 14 Dallara F2 2018 joining Ralph Boschung, who was already confirmed for the upcoming season last November.
Caldwell made his FIA Formula 2 debut last year joining Campos Racing for the last two rounds in Jeddah and Abu Dhabi. The 19-year-old driver was able to immediately show competitive pace and completed six solid races putting valuable experience under his belt. The Briton has been a race winner in every championship he entered including FIA Formula 3, Formula Regional European Championship or Formula 4 and his goal is to continue on his successful path.
Caldwell and his teammate Boschung, the latter claiming two podium results with Campos Racing last year, are expecting strong results throughout the 2022 season.
The FIA Formula 2 Championship will feature important novelties this season returning to a two-race format for its weekends and a 14-event calendar: Bahrain (19-20 March), Jeddah (26-27 March), Imola (23-24 April), Barcelona (21-22 May), Monaco (28-29 May), Baku (11-12 June), Silverstone (2-3 July), Red Bull Ring (9-10 July), Hungaroring (30-31 July), Spa-Francorchamps (27-28 August), Zandvoort (3-4 September), Monza (10-11 September), Sochi (24-25 September) and Yas Marina (19-20 November).
Adrián Campos (Campos Racing Team Principal): “We have closely followed Olli Caldwell’s racing career for a long time and we know he has plenty of potential. Despite we have spent very little time working together, our feeing couldn’t be better. Olli has quickly adapted to the team and the F2 car. We are convinced that we have a great season ahead. Olli has the necessary instinct, commitment and mind to continue growing as a racing driver and we will provide him our expertise to continue improving at Campos Racing.”
Olli Caldwell (Campos Racing driver of FIA Formula 2): “I’m very excited to be joining Campos Racing, especially after finishing the last two rounds and the post-season test with them. I get on really well with the team and especially with Ralph [Boschung]. The car is looking very strong and I think we can definitely achieve some very good results this year.”
