Campos Racing has successfully completed an intensive three days of official testing of the FIA Formula 2 Championship at Bahrain International Circuit, the same circuit on which the new 2024 season will kick off on 1-2 March. Frenchman Isack Hadjar and Pepe Martí gathered good mileage ahead of the curtain-raiser event.

On Sunday, rain hampered the normal testing programme due to torrential showers throughout the opening day. At the end, Hadjar posted a best lap of 1m54.650s with his Red Bull-liveried Dallara. His teammate Martí clocked a best lap 1m56.827s.

Track conditions massively improved on Monday with drivers focused on setting both qualifying laps and long-run simulations. In the morning, Hadjar put together a best lap of 1m45.902s, which was extensively lowered later in the afternoon. There, the Frenchman talent finished 4th in the timesheets with a best lap time of 1m41.921s. Besides, Hadjar was the driver who completed the most laps in the second session, 42 in total. Martí got affected by some teething issues with his car, which limited his running in the morning. But the Spaniard experienced a more positive afternoon and clocked a lap time of 1m42.539s.

Tuesday saw another brilliant performance coming from Campos Racing drivers. In the morning, Hadjar and Martí led the way for the Spanish-based racing team with laps 1m45.331s and 1m45.547s respectively. In the afternoon, with times improving in comparison with morning, Hadjar and Martí managed to put themselves in contention for the frontrunning places once again. Hadjar’s testing came to an end with the Frenchman in fourth place thanks to a lap time of 1m42.712s. Spaniard Martí rounded out the top-6 with a lap time of 1m42.887s.
