The French circuit will host the fourth round of the current season, marking the halfway point of the championship. Ho, Kluss, Shin, Lisle, and the recently added Carrasquedo Jr. will aim to shine behind the wheel of Campos Racing-run Tatuus machinery
Campos Racing is gearing up for a frenetic July in Eurocup-3 as the European championship has scheduled three rounds in the summer heat. The first will be this weekend at Circuit Paul Ricard, a consistently challenging track due to high temperatures this time of year. The Alzira-based team will once again line up its five single-seaters for Christian Ho, Valentin Kluss, Michael Shin, Noah Lisle, and Jesse Carrasquedo Jr., the latter recently joining as a replacement for Suleiman Zanfari.
After the first three rounds of the year, Singaporean Ho is the best-placed Campos Racing driver, occupying fourth place in the overall standings and being the best rookie with 67 points. After a challenging debut at Spa-Francorchamps, when his car stopped in the phenomenal Belgian storm, Ho managed a fourth place at the Red Bull Ring and later secured his first two wins in the Portuguese Algarve.
Kluss is establishing himself as another big name this season. The German, sixth in the overall standings and second among rookies with 58 points, has scored points in five of the six races held so far. In fact, after three top-7 finishes in the previous races, Kluss climbed to the podium in second and third place at the Algarve International Circuit.
South Korean Shin is another driver on a clear upward trend, having secured his first Eurocup-3 podium during the visit to Portugal last June. This, along with three other top-ten results, earns him ninth place in the standings. Australian Lisle is another driver to watch this weekend; despite occasional bad luck, he has already demonstrated the speed needed to at least aim for the podium. Similarly, Carrasquedo Jr. will be a driver to watch from his first participation in the championship, as the Mexican is another proven talent.
Regarding the team standings, Campos Racing occupies second place with 149 points.
The Circuit Paul Ricard was inaugurated in 1969, driven and financed by the French liqueur magnate of the same name, near the town of Le Castellet. After changes over the decades, the track now measures 5,842 meters and has been the recent venue for the French F1 Grand Prix. The famous blue run-off areas, a mix of asphalt and tungsten, give a unique character to a circuit where heat always plays a significant role at this time of year.
The drivers will tackle two free practice sessions on Saturday at 09:45 and 11:50, while the first qualifying session is scheduled for 15:45. That same afternoon, starting at 18:00, Race 1 will begin, scheduled for an estimated 30 minutes plus one lap. On Sunday, the second qualifying session will take place from 10:15, followed by Race 2, also 30 minutes plus one lap, scheduled for 13:30. Both races will be live-streamed on the Eurocup-3 YouTube channel.
Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): "We approach this fourth Eurocup-3 round at Le Castellet with maximum motivation, especially after the good results we achieved last month in the Algarve. There we secured our first two victories and made the podium with three different drivers, so we hope to translate our potential into equally competitive results again."
Jesse Carrasquedo Jr. (Campos Racing Driver in Eurocup-3): “I’m ready to kick off this new challenge at Paul Ricard. I feel pretty motivated and fully committed to bring strong results home for the team and, at the same time, learning as much as possible.”
