The 2024 Eurocup-3 season continues its European tour, and after visits to Belgium and Austria, the championship will make its first incursion into the Iberian Peninsula with this weekend's meeting at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. The Portuguese circuit has planned three races instead of the usual two, as the race cancelled on Sunday at Spa-Francorchamps due to torrential rain will also be contested. This provides an additional opportunity for Campos Racing drivers to shine on Portuguese soil.

The Alzira-based team will line up its five single-seaters for Christian Ho, Valentin Kluss, Noah Lisle, Suleiman Zanfari, and Michael Shin, a talented quintet aiming to reach the podium in Portugal. Singaporean driver Ho, who clinched his first pole position in the category at the Red Bull Ring, has been hindered in his ambitions by various issues, whether a technical problem at Spa or race incidents in Spielberg, but his fourth place in the second round of the calendar clearly demonstrates his aspirations for the rest of the season. Additionally, Ho secured his first victory in the classification reserved for rookie drivers, where German driver Kluss is the leader thanks to a win and a second place, making him another one to watch closely.

Australian driver Lisle placed among the top five for the first time this season in the first race held at the circuit located in the Styrian Mountains and will undoubtedly be another driver to watch for Portimão. For Zanfari, the visit to Red Bull Ring was truly unfortunate, but the Moroccan driver is determined to show the same level of performance from the curtain-raiser event, where he was in contention for the podium. As for Shin, the South Korean is on a clearly upward trajectory and scored his first points in the last round, finishing seventh and ninth.

Before heading to Portugal, Campos Racing occupies the second position in the team standings with 48 points to its name.

The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve is a real roller coaster due to its numerous elevation changes and blind corners. The first braking zone, downhill, is one of the most challenging of the season before entering a very technical second sector with corners like Torre VIP and Samsung. The third and final sector is dominated by the right-hand corners Sagres and Galp, the latter with a very wide radius leading onto the main straight.

The drivers will tackle the two free practice sessions on Saturday at 10:50 and 13:20. The first qualifying session is scheduled for 15:50 that same afternoon, while the first race, with an estimated duration of 35 minutes, will start at 18:08. Looking ahead to Sunday, the on-track activity will begin with the second qualifying session at 10:40. The second and third races, each of the same duration, are scheduled for Sunday at 13:03 and 15:48. All three races will be streamed live on the Eurocup-3 YouTube channel. All times are in Spanish time.

Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): "We are entering these summer months in the most important part of the Eurocup-3 season with a good number of events that will be crucial for the championship. We have up to four rounds in June and July and want to achieve the best possible results. We have worked intensely over these past weeks and are eager to turn all that effort into podiums and victories. The Algarve is a fantastic circuit, which we know well, and surely a great racing weekend awaits us."

Valentin Kluss (Driver of Campos Racing in Eurocup-3): “Really excited to get started again in Portimão after a short break. I've been working hard at home in the last couple of weeks and it will pay off. It is a new track for me which makes it even more interesting!”
