The former Le Mans winner and Formula 1 driver gave “Master in Motorsport. Engineering and Mechanics in motorsports” students a masterclass in the premises of Campos Racing
Marc Gené paid a visit to “Master in Motorsport. Engineering and Mechanics in motorsports” students as the Barcelona-born driver, who won the Euro Open by Nissan with Campos Racing back in 1998, conducted a masterclass earlier this week in Alzira.
Gené, who made his debut in Formula 1 with Minardi and later joined Williams and Ferrari, explained how important the role of engineers and mechanics is in motorsport. The Spaniard, a Le Mans winner and four-time podium finisher with Peugeot and Audi, gave students very good advice underlining some key factors nowadays, which bring remarkable advantages such as mastering several languages, simulator training due to limited testing or the relationship between driver and engineer.
The “Master in Motorsport. Engineering and Mechanics in motorsports” course, developed by Campos Racing and Florida Universitaria, is unique in its class as its students can join the team for its racing programmes in the FIA Formula 2, the FIA Formula 3 and the Spanish Formula 4 Championship.
