Campos Racing and Griffin Core by Campos will field their six Tatuus single-seaters with the goal of having their drivers climb to the top of the podium at the home circuit in what will be the fifth round of the season
The 2024 F4 Spain season continues this weekend with the fifth event of the seven-round calendar. It will be an especially significant meeting for Campos Racing and Griffin Core by Campos as it will take place at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Cheste, the local race for the Alzira-based team. James Egozi, Nathan Tye, and Enzo Tarnvanichkul will once again defend the colors of Campos Racing, while Ernesto Rivera, Jan Przyrowski, and Andrés Cárdenas will do the same for Griffin Core by Campos.
After the four rounds held before the summer break, Rivera is the best-placed driver in the standings with 94 points, thanks to a victory in the Algarve and a second place at Jarama as his standout results. The Mexican has shown great consistency, scoring points in nine of the twelve races held so far. Close behind him is American driver Egozi, who races with Red Bull livery on his Tatuus and has also tasted the podium in F4 Spain. Egozi, who has finished in the top 5 in all races he completed, finished second and third at Le Castellet.
Two other drivers from Griffin Core by Campos and Campos Racing are among the top ten in the standings so far. Polish driver Przyrowski has also shown great solidity by scoring points in eight races, with a third place at Jarama as his best result to date. Meanwhile, British driver Tye has also climbed to the podium twice, with a second place in the Algarve and another second place at Motorland Aragón just before the summer break.
Tarnvanichkul is also showing a clearly upward trajectory and will be another driver to watch in the second half of the year. As he has gained experience in the category and at the wheel of the Tatuus single-seater, Tarnvanichkul scored points twice, completing his best weekend to date in Alcañiz. There, the Red Bull driver achieved his first podium and scored points in the other two races. An experienced driver like Cárdenas will also be a favorite in Valencia and will be another name to watch closely throughout the weekend.
The visit of F4 Spain to the Ricardo Tormo Circuit will be especially significant as the Valencian track celebrates its 25th anniversary, an event particularly relevant for Campos Racing due to the influence and role Adrián Campos played in its creation. With a length of just over four kilometers, Cheste is a circuit where races are always very close and the differences are minimal. Its fourteen corners usually favor pack racing, and small nuances can tip the balance one way or another. In the collective tests held by the category there at the end of August, Campos Racing and Griffin Core by Campos drivers were among the fastest, undoubtedly a morale boost for the entire structure.
The schedule includes two 40-minute free practice sessions on Saturday morning. The first qualifying session will take place from 13:30. Race 1 will consist of 30 minutes + 1 lap and will start that same afternoon at 15:35. On Sunday, the drivers will take to the track at 09:00 for the second qualifying session. The second race, scheduled for 25 minutes + 1 lap, will begin at 11:05. Finally, the third and final race will take place from 15:15, consisting of 30 minutes + 1 lap. All the action can be followed through the live streaming on the championship's YouTube channel. All times are Spanish.
Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “We are very excited about this home event for the team. As always in F4 Spain, the differences will be minimal, and on a circuit like Cheste, where everything is always decided by small details, even more so. Competing in front of our people will undoubtedly give us wings, and hopefully, we can finish on the podium as many times as possible.”
Jan Przyrowski (Campos Racing Driver in F4 Spain): "Feelings before this weekend are really great during the test the team had good pace. This week is important for me and the team because it’s the home track of Campos Racing and I would really like to make everyone here happy it feels like podiums and wins are on the horizon and also because me and the team like the track."
