Campos Racing is counting down the hours until the sixth round of the 2024 FIA Formula 3 season at Red Bull Ring, which also marks the beginning of the second half of the campaign. In the relentless months of June and July, where much of the title chances are at stake, the Spanish team will once again provide full support to the three drivers representing its colors in the category: Oliver “Ollie” Goethe, Mari Boya, and Sebas Montoya.

The young and talented trio of Campos Racing drivers travels to Austria’s Styria region with the utmost motivation given how the season has unfolded so far. All three drivers have already proven capable of fighting for top positions in the championship. The German-Danish driver Goethe boasts the distinction of being the only driver on the current FIA Formula 3 grid to have scored points in every race, all ten of them, this season. “Ollie,” who clinched victory at Imola where he also secured another podium that same weekend before returning to the podium in Barcelona, embodies reliability and consistency. It is no coincidence that the driver sporting Red Bull colors on his car is sixth in the overall standings with 63 points, but with his rivals ahead by a narrow margin.

They say perseverance pays off, and that was the case for the Spaniard Boya last weekend. The driver, born in the heart of the Pyrenees, notched his first win in the category just days ago in Barcelona, at his home race, with a display of composure and race management. Boya, who has scored points on six other occasions, is ninth in the standings and eager to climb further up. And then there’s the Colombian Montoya. By his own merit, Montoya is perhaps the driver who has overtaken the most rivals this year thanks to his comebacks in Australia, Italy, Spain, and even Monaco. If he can start at the front in qualifying, he is undoubtedly one of the strongest drivers in the entire field.

In the team standings, Campos Racing’s upward trend is evident as the Spanish team currently holds fourth place with 115 points, with their closest competitors just a short distance away.

Red Bull Ring, intrinsically linked to the towns of Spielberg and Zeltweg, has been a symbol of Central European motorsport since the 1970s. Its various configurations have always been characterized by high speeds with just ten corners, most of them right-handers except for two. The names of some of the turns, such as Lauda and Rindt, evoke the great Austrian motorsport legends. Given the typically close gaps in qualifying and the traffic on a circuit just over four kilometers long, achieving the best possible time to start as far up the grid as possible is crucial. Adding to this is the changing weather, with storms expected this time, setting the stage for another thrilling race weekend.

Both free practice and qualifying will take place on Friday at 8:55 and 14:00, respectively. The Sprint race will be held on Saturday at 9:30, while the Feature race on Sunday is scheduled for 8:30. All times are in the Spanish time zone.

Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “Having secured two victories in the last three meetings, we are confident in the competitiveness of both our drivers and our cars. We head to Red Bull Ring with great enthusiasm, a very unique circuit that is somewhat like a small Spa-Francorchamps due to its constant elevations and changing weather. It is always a very challenging weekend, but we are confident we can leave Austria with fantastic results.”

Oliver Goethe (Campos Racing Driver in FIA Formula 3): “Very excited to be at Red Bull Ring this weekend! It’s a track with a lot of overtaking opportunities and high degradation in the races so there will be a lot to play for there. I’m confident that we can continue our momentum and score some more big points.”

Mari Boya (Campos Racing Driver in FIA Formula 3): “I’m looking forward to returning on track in Spielberg, because it’s always such an exciting weekend of close racing. After a competitive weekend at our home round, I feel pretty confident with my chances and those of my team.”

Sebastián Montoya (Campos Racing Driver in FIA Formula 3): “Very happy to be at Red Bull ring this weekend! It’s a fun track with a lot of overtaking opportunities and fast corners! Very confident the car will be fast here so let’s push as we did in Barcelona!”
