Campos Racing Targets the Podium at Silverstone

There’s no pause in the action for Campos Racing and its drivers. Just a few days after competing in Austria, the entire team from Alzira is already in Great Britain for the eighth event of the current season, which also marks the start of the second half of the campaign in grand style. Two new races await, held in the iconic setting of the British Grand Prix — one of the most historic events on the calendar — and both are set to play a pivotal role in the title fight.

The drivers’ championship is incredibly tight at the top, where even a modest weekend in terms of results can mean gaining or losing up to three positions. At present, Lindblad sits sixth in the standings with 79 points, followed closely by Pepe Martí with 67. The strong season both drivers are enjoying has enabled Campos Racing to lead the teams’ standings with 146 points — twenty more than their closest rival.

One driver who will be hungrier than ever for victory this weekend is Lindblad. Not only will he be racing in front of his home fans, but he’ll also be looking to bounce back after a tough outing at the Red Bull Ring. Lindblad knows Silverstone extremely well — he famously won both FIA Formula 3 races there in 2024. And what better way to return to winning ways than doing so in Red Bull colors in FIA Formula 2? The Surrey-born driver already knows what it takes to win in the second tier of FIA single-seaters, having taken victories in Jeddah and Imola earlier this year, and will be aiming to return to the podium as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Martí will be hoping to build on the excellent form he showed in Spielberg, where the Spaniard claimed his second win of the season thanks to a brilliant comeback drive on Saturday. The Barcelona native, who had already taken victory in Sakhir and finished second at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, will have another chance to climb further up the standings in Silverstone — a circuit where he stepped onto the podium two years ago in FIA Formula 3.

Silverstone is a circuit that needs little introduction to any motorsport fan. Host of the British Grand Prix for the first time in 1948, it was also the venue of the very first Formula 1 World Championship Grand Prix in 1950. Located on the grounds of a former RAF airfield used during World War II, its layout has evolved over the years in the name of safety, but its essence remains — a series of fast, flowing corners where one mistake can compromise the next. Legendary names like Copse, Becketts and Stowe have been part of racing folklore for decades. Campos Racing has enjoyed great success at Silverstone, including a win from pole position with Isack Hadjar in 2024. Despite being the height of summer, the weather forecast predicts rain on both Saturday and Sunday — making for an unpredictable weekend.

Free practice will begin on Friday at 11:00, with qualifying scheduled for 15:55. The first race will take place on Saturday at 14:15, followed by the second race on Sunday at 12:05. All times are CET.

Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “After winning a race in Barcelona and another in Spielberg, and having at least a driver on the podium every weekend, we’re heading to Silverstone aiming to keep the streak alive. We arrive as leaders in the teams’ standings, and with Pepe and Arvid, the goal is also to move further up in the drivers’ standings, especially given how tight everything is. Last year, we won the Sunday feature race from pole, so we know we have a competitive package. The expected rain could make the weekend something of a lottery, so we’ll need to react quickly and avoid mistakes.”
