Campos Racing Heads to Jeddah: Objective – Keep the Winning Streak Alive

The second of the back-to-back rounds in the Middle East on the FIA Formula 2 calendar sees Martí and Lindblad aiming to build on the excellent results achieved last weekend. The Spaniard, who claimed his first win of the season, and the Briton, who scored points in both races, are looking to continue making headlines on the shores of the Red Sea

With no time to catch their breath, the 2025 FIA Formula 2 season continues with the third round of the year taking place this coming weekend at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit. Campos Racing will carry on its campaign in the Persian Gulf with their Red Bull-liveried F2 cars driven by Pepe Martí and Arvid Lindblad — a duo that already turned heads just a few days ago in Bahrain.

After the first two events, in Sakhir and the season opener in Melbourne, Martí has already opened his victory tally this year, triumphing in last Saturday’s sprint race. Starting outside the top ten, the Barcelona-born driver made up half a dozen positions on the opening lap and continued his charge to the top step of the podium. On Sunday, in the feature race with mandatory pit stops, Martí delivered another flawless comeback drive, battling for a podium place until the very end, ultimately finishing fourth — just four tenths shy of third. Thanks to his eighth-place finish in Australia, Martí now sits fourth in the overall standings with 23 points, just three behind the championship leader.

Lindblad’s performance in Bahrain also confirmed what is expected — and rightly so given his talent — of the British driver in FIA F2. After a challenging qualifying session on Friday, much like his teammate Martí, Lindblad was a standout across both races. Closely mirroring Martí’s performances, Lindblad charged through the field to finish fifth in the sprint race and followed up with an eighth-place finish on Sunday. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the young rookie soon battling for victories against more experienced contenders. The Surrey native is currently ninth in the standings with eight points.

In the teams’ championship, Campos Racing holds second place with 31 points.

The Jeddah Corniche Circuit is one of the most recent additions to the FIA Formula 2 calendar and, at 6.174 kilometers, is the secong longest track after Spa-Francorchamps. Undeniably, it is the fastest street circuit in the world, with its sweeping straights, rapid-fire DRS zones, and high-speed linked corners. In fact, drivers spend nearly 80% of the lap at full throttle. The circuit’s 27 turns present a significant challenge for drivers, who must deliver during qualifying, as the lack of heavy braking zones makes overtaking particularly difficult. Races often unfold in DRS trains, requiring precise execution.

Free practice and qualifying will take place on Friday at 11:55 and 17:00 respectively. Saturday’s sprint race will get underway at 17:15, while the feature race on Sunday — which includes a mandatory pit stop for tire changes — will begin at 15:25. All times are in Spanish local time.

Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “Achieving the first win of the season is always a challenge, and we’re delighted to have achieved it just a few days ago in Bahrain. Both Pepe and Arvid delivered two excellent races, making impressive comebacks from midfield or further back on the grid. However, such comebacks will be even more difficult in Jeddah due to the nature of the circuit itself. That’s why we’ve been fine-tuning all the little details that gave us a hard time in Sakhir, and we’re confident that we’ll see our best version yet in Jeddah. If we start further up the grid and maintain our race pace, we’re aiming to improve even more on our previous results.”
