The exotic and luxurious Yas Marina Circuit will host the final two races of the current season, with Arvid Lindblad and Nikola Tsolov at the wheel of the Alzira-based team’s Formula 2 cars, aiming to close the year in style
The moment has arrived. The curtain will fall on the 2025 FIA Formula 2 campaign this weekend in the United Arab Emirates, where Yas Marina Circuit will stage the fourteenth and last round of the season. Campos Racing will once again field its two F2 cars in Red Bull colours, driven by the same duo that debuted together only days ago in Qatar: Arvid Lindblad and Nikola Tsolov.
Lindblad arrives in Abu Dhabi riding a wave of confidence, not only thanks to his spectacular charge through the field in Sunday’s race in Lusail, but also after today’s confirmation that he will step up to Formula 1 with Racing Bulls S.p.A. in 2026. There could be no better way to sign off his FIA Formula 2 season than by returning to the podium at Yas Marina. The British driver, currently sixth in the standings with 121 points, took his maiden F2 win in the Jeddah Sprint Race. He later claimed his first Sunday race victory at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, and has added two further runner-up finishes in Imola and Monza.
Tsolov made a strong debut in Formula 2. The “Bulgarian Lion”, who jumped into an F2 car for the first time without having driven at the track before, set the seventh-fastest time in qualifying. The reigning FIA Formula 3 vice-champion delivered a superb start in Saturday’s race, climbing to third and running in podium contention until the final lap. Tsolov continued to impress on Sunday, crossing the line in seventh place after another solid performance that underlined his swift and efficient adaptation to the category.
With only two races remaining, Campos Racing sits third in the Teams’ Championship with 239 points.
Yas Marina Circuit, inaugurated in 2009, measures 5.281 kilometres in its current configuration, introduced in 2021. Located within the touristic Yas Island complex, the track is characterised by its long straights—particularly the one linking Turns 5 and 6, which stretches for more than a kilometre. The third and final sector offers a different challenge, featuring a flowing sequence of corners that reward cars with strong overall balance and braking stability. With temperatures set to approach 30ºC during the races, tyre management will also play a crucial role.
Free Practice will get underway on Friday at 08:05, followed by Qualifying at 12:00. Saturday’s first race is scheduled for 13:15, while Sunday’s second race will start at 10:15. All times are CET (Spanish time).
Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “We travel to Abu Dhabi fully motivated to end the FIA Formula 2 season on a high. I want to congratulate Arvid, because his outstanding rookie year in the category has opened the doors of Formula 1 for him, and he absolutely deserves it. He has done an enormous job, and we hope he can cap it off at Yas Marina by finishing as high as possible in his final race with the team. Nikola’s debut in Qatar did not surprise us, because we know the talent he has. With no experience of the car or the circuit, he managed to qualify seventh, spend most of Saturday’s race running in podium positions, and then finish in the points again on Sunday while managing the pit stop phase impeccably—despite the pressure of such a delicate moment. I am sure he will continue to impress in Abu Dhabi.”
