Campos Racing faces its third consecutive weekend of FIA Formula 2 in what will be the eighth event of the 2024 season, marking the start of the second half of the current campaign. For this, the Alzira-based team will head to Silverstone, the former World War II airfield and venue of the British Grand Prix since 1950. Moreover, the Northamptonshire circuit predates even the creation of F1 itself, having hosted its first Grand Prix in 1948. A historic racing venue and the true Home of the British Motor Racing.

The two Campos Racing Dallara F2 2024 cars, decorated in Red Bull colors, will once again be driven by a duo that has proven to be the strongest in the category so far. In fact, Campos Racing leads the teams' standings with 143 points, thanks to the immense work of Isack Hadjar and Pepe Martí.

Hadjar is in second place in the drivers' standings with 106 points, eleven behind Paul Aron. The Frenchman has so far secured two wins in Melbourne and Imola and two podiums, in Monaco – which could have been another victory if not for a VSC – and the most recent one at Red Bull Ring a few days ago, finishing third after experiencing an engine failure in Friday’s qualifying session.

As for Martí, the Barcelona driver returned to the podium path in Spielberg last weekend, finishing second in the sprint race, adding to the two podium finishes he achieved in Bahrain back in March.

Despite the numerous changes Silverstone has undergone to adapt it to modern times, names like Copse, Maggotts, Becketts, or Stowe remain indelible in the memory of good “petrolheads”. Silverstone is characterized as a circuit with medium asphalt in terms of wear and abrasion but nevertheless demands a lot from the tires due to some of the highest average cornering speeds take place there. Therefore, the tires, especially the front left one, experience significant wear and degradation. To make matters worse, the weather conditions are expected to be changeable, with the possibility of showers on both Friday and Sunday.

Both the free practice and the qualifying session will take place on Friday at 11:00 and 16:05 respectively. On Saturday, the sprint race will start at 14:15 while the main race, with a mandatory pit stop for tire changes, will take place at 10:55. All times are in Spanish time zone.

Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “After the two podiums achieved with Isack and Pepe in Spielberg, we want to continue in the same vein at Silverstone. Both have shown to be very strong at this key moment of the season, where it is crucial to score as many points as possible. This will determine a good part of the chances for the drivers' and teams' titles, so we hope to leave Silverstone, a circuit that always delivers really exciting races, with the best possible results.”

Isack Hadjar (Campos Racing Driver in FIA Formula 2): “I love the Silverstone layout, one of my favorites. I’m super happy to be back there. It will be a busy Friday mixing F1/F2 but feeling ready for this challenge.”

Pepe Martí (Campos Racing Driver in FIA Formula 2): “Really happy to be back in Silverstone for this year’s race, it’s a very special track and we got good results last year. Coming from a successful weekend in Austria I want to keep on scoring good points.”
