The Singaporean driver, who leads the rookie standings and is second overall, will seek to finish on the podium for the fifth consecutive time this season during the visit to Jerez. Kluss, Shin, Carrasquedo Jr., and Lisle also have podium finishes in mind for the penultimate race of the season
The Eurocup-3 continental championship is entering its crucial moments for title resolution as the penultimate race of the 2024 season takes place this coming weekend. It will be held at the Circuito de Jerez, a track that will also restart the category’s sports activities after the summer break. Until July, six meetings were held, and now only two remain: the one in Jerez and the final race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya next November.
This is why Campos Racing has worked tirelessly over the past two months to prepare for this key part of the season. In Cádiz, the Alzira-based team will once again field their Tatuus-built single-seaters for Christian Ho, Valentin Kluss, Michael Shin, Jesse Carrasquedo Jr., and Noah Lisle, a quintet known for their speed, talent, and performance in the category.
Ho is in second place in the rookie standings and is the best of the debutants so far. The Singaporean driver has 164 points from three wins (two in Algarve and one at Circuit Paul Ricard) and several second places. Ho will try to close the gap with the championship leader and possibly take the top spot.
Kluss has also been a pleasant surprise this season, sitting in fifth place overall and second among the rookies behind his teammate Ho. The German driver has been on the podium three times, finishing second in Portimão and third both in Portimão and Zandvoort. Another driver who has reached the podium is South Korean Shin, who finished third in Portugal and in the first race at Motorland Aragón just before the summer break.
Carrasquedo Jr. has also tasted victory in Eurocup-3, despite joining the category at Paul Ricard in early July. He finished third at Le Castellet and quickly secured his first win in Alcañiz. Australian Lisle has several top-5 finishes and aims to reach the podium in one of the remaining races before the season ends.
Campos Racing is second in the team standings with 326 points.
The Circuito de Jerez, with its 4.428 meters, has become one of the motorsport cathedrals in the Iberian Peninsula since its inauguration in the mid-1980s. While the main straight is not particularly long, the back straight provides another significant overtaking opportunity at the Dry Sac corner. The Ayrton Senna Chicane and the Jorge Lorenzo Corner are two other notable points on the Cádiz circuit.
The drivers will start free practice on Saturday at 09:50, with the first qualifying session scheduled for 12:50. Race 1 will start that afternoon at 15:30, expected to last 30 minutes plus one lap. On Sunday, the second qualifying session will begin at 09:30, and Race 2, also 30 minutes plus one lap, is scheduled for 12:05. Both races will be streamed live on the Eurocup-3 YouTube channel.
Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “We are very excited about this penultimate race of the Eurocup-3 season. Jerez is a circuit that has historically been good for us, and we go with all the excitement and desire to have our drivers fighting for victories and podiums. With Jerez, only four races remain until the end, and it will be a hugely important weekend for the resolution of the titles.”
Noah Lisle (Campos Racing Driver in Eurocup-3): “It’s great to be back racing in Jerez after the summer break! Both the team and I have been competitive here in the past, I’m confident with the work over the break we are in for a strong weekend.”
