Changeable weather made for difficult conditions on both testing days as it made tire choice extremely challenging. Still Campos Racing drivers were setting some really good pace
Campos Racing ended first GP3 Series’ collective testing on a positive note at Autódromo do Estoril. Julien Falchero, Marcos Siebert and Raoul Hyman, at the wheel of three Campos Racing-entered Dallara GP3/16, were competitive in the dry and also in the wet. Particularly Day 2 was particularly demanding because it was almost impossible to run at the right moment and on the rights tire, because just a few minutes made a big difference.
On Wednesday, South Africa´s Raouly Hyman emerged fastest with a lap time of 1:31.539. In the afternoon, in an all-dry session, Hyman still set a stunning place to post 3rd quickest lap time with his 1:27.705. On the other hand, both Siebert and Falchero also clocked competitive lap times. Today, as mentioned above, morning saw another rain-hit session but sun finally came out in the afternoon. Siebert scored a fantastic lap of 1:29.266 to take 8th on the time sheets. Hyman and Falchero also completed their running program and had 70 laps to their credit each.
This year’s second collective testing will take place in Barcelona on 19-20 April.
