The Spanish team finished inside the points scoring top ten with Hyman and Siebert and the South-African started on the pole-position on Sunday. Falchero also completed a strong weekend
Campos Racing got its season off to a good start with a strong performance at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya with their drivers making it into the points. Besides, one of the Campos Racing-entered cars secured pole position for Sunday. Raoul Hyman, Marcos Siebert and Julien Falchero draw positive conclusions from his their debut in the GP3 Series.
On Friday, Siebert posted 3rd-quickest lap time with his 1:36.293 in free practice and both Hyman and Falchero clocked lap times of 1:36.517 and 1:37.570 and ended the day with almost 70 laps under their belt. For Saturday’s morning qualifying session, Siebert secured fifth row start with his 1:34.788 and his teammates Hyman and Falchero started on the 6th and the 8th rows respectively.
In race one, Campos Racing and their drivers delivered a strong performance and they passed and re-passed each other several times! Finally Hyman claimed the highest finish with his 8th place and his pole position for Sunday. Siebert also scored points with his tenth place ahead of Falchero, who was 1th.
On Sunday, Hyman spent almost the entire race in podium contention and finally came seventh and 17 laps. Falchero also took a top-ten finish in race 2 and Siebert finished 16th.
The championship moves to the next round, which will take place at Red Bull Ring on 7-9 July.
