Its first home round of the season, held at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, could be a fertile ground for Campos Racing's Ralph Boschung and Stefano Coletti
Campos Racing will arrive in Barcelona to improve what was achieved at FIA Formula Two Championship’s season-opener at Bahrain International Circuit. There, Swiss Ralph Boschung made a positive impression from the very first free practice session on his debut in the main F.1-feeder series and Monegasque driver Stefano Coletti posted the fastest lap with a time of 1:45.843 in Race 1.
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya also marks the start of the European Grand Prix season. In the frame of the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix, Campos Racing expects still a better performance in its first home round of the season – the second will take place at Circuito de Jerez on 6-8 October- and both Coletti and Boschung aim for a good finish. The Spanish-based team targets first double points finish of the season with podium also in reach.
As always, the asphalt of the Catalan track is rather abrasive with Turn 3 being a particularly demanding corner for tires. Rear tires will suffer additional stress. Besides, hot temperatures will also increase tire wear. Pirelli will announce the tire selections later this week.
Friday’s free practice session will take place at 12.00 (CET) and then the single qualifying session is due to start at 15.55 (CET). Race 1 and Race 2 will get underway at 15.40 (CET) and 10.35 (CET) on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
