The Argentine driver claimed two other podium finishes in his Campos Racing-entered Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1
Campos Racing and Esteban Guerrieri sustained and built another excellent result on their previous success in the World Touring Car Championship. The only Spanish team in the series and the Argentinian ace shone battling the factory-funded teams once again at Hungaroring, which is called Monaco without walls and tunnels.
In his Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1, Guerrieri finished fourth and eleventh on the time sheets in both free practice sessions. In qualifying, Guerrieri gave full rein to his natural ability to excel under difficult circumstances and qualified 3rd fastest behind Robert Huff and Mehdi Bennani, they both with two Citroën C-Elysée WTCC cars and beating both factory-entered Volvo S60 WTCC cars driven by Nicky Catsburg and Néstor Girolami.
On Sunday, Guerrieri came sixth overall in the Opening race and stepped third onto the WTCC Trophy. In the Main race, the driver of Campos Racing finished sixth and third in WTCC Trophy once again.
Guerrieri currently sits fourth in the WTCC Trophy Drivers’ classification on 38 points. In the drivers’ classification is 7th on 62 points. Campos Racing currently lies second in the WTCC Teams’ Trophy on 40 points.
The WTCC Race of Germany will take place at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife.
