The Swede drive of Mahindra Racing started the race from the third row lost many places at the first corner. Finally Rosenqvist brought 11th place home behind his teammate Heidfeld. The latter rounded out the points-paying positions
The opening lap ruined chances of Mahindra Racing, whose M4ELECTRO cars are run in collaboration with QEV Technologies – in which Campos Racing forms part of the shareholding also provides its staff and technology-, for running in podium contention in the Berlin e.Prix, the ninth round of the all-electric FIA Formula E.
In qualifying, Rosenqvist took the 6th spot on the starting grid with a lap time of 1m09.951s around the Tempelhof circuit. On the other hand, local favorite Nick Heidfeld posted the 14th-fastest lap with his 1m20.264s in his M4ELECTRO.
At the start, Rosenqvist ran wide as he tried to overtake the leaders on the outside. As a result, the driver of Mahindra Racing dropped out the top-ten. It’s extremely hard to overtake at the Tempelhof circuit and despite a good pit stop strategy, Heidfeld finished tenth – back into the points at his home round- and Rosenqvist came eleventh.
Round 10 will take place at Zurich on 10 June. It will be the final European event before the double-header – and title decider- in July.
