Just one week after Red Bull Ring, Campos Racing heads to Great Britain for Round Six of the series looking to extend their run of points-scoring finishes
Campos Racing is ready for the four-day double-header meeting at Silverstone Circuit, the Home of British Motor Racing and, in fact, of the Formula One itself as the British track held the very first race back in 1950. Campos Racing achieved good results at Silverstone in previous seasons as the Spanish team won Sunday’s GP2 race two years ago and one of their cars took a fourth place finish in Race 1 last year.
Campos Racing and its duo of Ralph Boschung and Robert Visoiu ended the last two events on a positive note. Boschung scored his first points of the season in Azerbaijan and achieved his season high 7th-place finish in Austria last weekend. On the other hand, Visoiu is still searching for his first points after joining Campos Racing at Monte Carlo but he has the race pace to be in the top-ten. In fact, Visoiu finished 11th twice at the Baku City Circuit and the Red Bull Ring.
The circuit has a mixture of high-speed and slow corners with a technical middle section, so it will be another case of compromising with the set-up to find the right balance. Its challenging corners and usual lateral forces combined with an abrasive surface accentuate high levels of tire degradation.
Unlike other Formula 2 events, the free practice session will take place on Thursday at 16.30 (CET) with qualifying, as usual, scheduled on Friday at 16.15 (CET). Saturday´s race 1 is due to start at 16.00. Finally, Sunday’s race is scheduled at 10.20 (CET).
