Valente was the only driver matching “Pechito” López at Nürburgring and his goal is to equal that pace in Moscow. Filippi already claimed a podium finish among TC2 contenders in Russia last year

World Touring Car Championship continues season this weekend at Moscow Raceway and, after the German round, it arrives in Russia. Its two Chevrolets RML Cruze TC1 will be driven by Hugo Valente and John Filippi. In the Russian capital both drivers will have a similar goal, to continue battling with factory teams such as Citroën, LADA and Honda. At Nürburgring Valente was almost able to beat José María López to pole position and, in Hungary, the Frenchman played a stellar role on Saturday. Therefore, Valente will be a force to be reckoned with. On the other hand John Filippi, 5th in the privateers´ classification, took a podium finish in Moscow last year and this track is a cup of tea for him.

Qualifying sessions takes place on Saturday at 13.30, with both races on Sunday at 12.15 and 13.25.
