Oriola and Filippi will drive the two Team Oscaro by Campos Racing-run Cupra TCR cars at the Hungaroring
The FIA WTCR will head to Hungary for its second round of the 2018 season at the Hungaroring, also called “Monaco without walls”. The all-new FIA World Touring Car Cup kicked off in fashion in Marrakesh with seven different brands fighting for top podium places. Hungaroring is now the first European venue of the season and one of most historic motorsport venues in the Old Continent.
Pepe Oriola and John Filippi completed a great opening weekend in their Cupra TCR cars of Team Oscaro by Campos Racing. Spaniard Oriola secured a podium finish in Morocco as he finished third in race 2 after also securing a maiden pole position and scoring points in race 3. Corsican Filippi collected first points by finishing tenth during Saturday’s opening race.
Hungaroring was resurfaced two years ago and its asphalt is now smoother and faster than before.
Saturday’s race 1 will take place at 15.25 (CET) with two other races scheduled on Sunday at 15.30 (CET) and 16.55 (CET).
