Nextel TCR Formula E and Mahindra Racing, whose cars are run by Campos Racing, ready for another challenge at the Putrajaya Street Circuit, which hosts the event in Malaysia. Heidfeld secured podium finish in China
The FIA Formula E heads to Malaysia for its second round of 2015-16 season and Campos Racing will run four cars for Mahindra Racing and Nextel TCR Formula E. The season opener in Beijing was a positive start to the season as Nick Heidfeld achieved his first podium of the campaign for Mahindra Racing as the former F.1 star finished third.
At the same time, Briton Oliver Turvey came 6th for Nextel TCR Formula E putting in a charging recovery drive. Defending champion Brazil´s Nelson Piquet Jr, with another car racing under Nextel TCR Formula E banner, and his fellow country man Bruno Senna, of Mahindra Racing, have to be counted among the favorites as well.
The Putrajaya Street Circuit is an urban track is 2.56 km in length and features 12 turns. Besides, it is described as bumpy, hot and humid and one of the sternest challenges of the Formula E calendar for both man and machine.
Race action will take place on Saturday 7th with a non-qualifying practice and then four qualifying sessions with Super pole format. FIA Formula E race is due to start at 14.00 (local time) and consisting of 33 laps.
