The FIA Formula E reaches round 3 this weekend. Nextel TCR Formula E and Mahindra Racing cars will be run by Campos Racing once again. Oliver Rowland to replace Nick Heidfeld at Mahindra
The FIA Formula E, after kicking the season off in Asia, heads to South-America for Round 3. The Uruguayan venue will be the last meeting before Christmas. Punta del Este is a luxurious town, which characterized as the St Tropez of South America. The street circuit runs along the harbor and is 2.808 km in length and features 20 turns.
This circuit brings back happy memories for Campos Racing as Brazil´s Nelson Piquet Jr. finished 2nd at the wheel of the car running under the banner of Nextel TCR Formula E last year. The defending drivers´ champion will team up with Briton Oliver Turvey and they both take aim at points next Saturday.
At Mahindra Racing the team has to change driver. Oliver Rowland will substitute Nick Heidfeld in Punta del Este. Former Formula 1 driver – sitting 4th in the standings- is recovering from race injuries during Putrajaya ePrix and Rowland will drive his car in Uruguay. Rowland, aged 23, claimed Formula Renault 3.5 title earlier this season. Brazilian Bruno Senna will drive another Mahindra M2Electro.
All the action from Formula E qualifying and race will take place on Saturday.
