Silverstone kicks off the second half of the Eurocup-3 season

The fifth of eight rounds on the 2026 Eurocup-3 calendar will take the continental championship to Silverstone for the first time, with the historic and ultra-fast British circuit also serving as the venue for the British Formula 1 Grand Prix. GriffinCore Campos Racing will head there with its four Dallara 326-Toyota cars, to be driven by regulars Patrick Heuzenroeder, Thomas Strauven and Enzo Tarnvanichkul, alongside new addition Francisco Macedo.
Born in the Portuguese city of Braga, Macedo returns to GriffinCore Campos Racing at Silverstone after competing for the Alzira-based outfit in the 2025 Eurocup-3 season. The young Portuguese driver achieved a best result of second place at Circuit Paul Ricard during the campaign. Although Silverstone will mark his first experience with the new Dallara chassis, Macedo’s international racing experience provides him with a strong foundation for this challenge.
Heuzenroeder already knows what it takes to win this season, having claimed victory in one of the Imola races, and is currently GriffinCore Campos Racing’s highest-placed driver with 41 points. The Australian has also recorded two further top-five finishes and will once again be targeting a place on the podium at Silverstone.
Tarnvanichkul has also stood on the podium this season, with the Red Bull Junior Team driver finishing second at Le Castellet. For Strauven, meanwhile, the podium remains the only missing piece. The reigning F4 Spain champion and Eurocup-3 rookie has shown impressive consistency throughout the season, scoring points on six occasions, and his first podium appears to be getting ever closer.
In the teams’ standings, GriffinCore Campos Racing currently sits third with 138 points. As mentioned, Silverstone Circuit is one of the new venues on the Eurocup-3 calendar this season, with the championship also making its first-ever visit to the United Kingdom. There could hardly be a more fitting venue for this milestone than the circuit known as the “Home of British Motor Racing”. At 5.891 kilometres in length, Silverstone represents a demanding challenge for both drivers and cars.
With predominantly high-speed corners, most of them right-handers, including Woodcote, Abbey, Copse and Stowe, the latter is one of the main overtaking opportunities at the end of the Hangar Straight. The fast Maggotts-Becketts-Chapel sequence is another of Silverstone’s most iconic sections following the circuit modifications introduced in 1991.
The drivers will take to the track on Friday morning for a free practice session. Qualifying will take place later that same day from 15:45. The first race, lasting 30 minutes plus one lap, will get underway on Saturday at 12:45. The weekend will conclude on Sunday with the second and final race at 10:00, with the same duration. All times are CET. Both races can be followed via the official Eurocup-3 YouTube channel through live streaming.
Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “We are very excited to head to Silverstone for Eurocup-3’s first visit to this very special circuit, while at the same time we need to approach the weekend with the necessary caution given that this will be a new track for all of us in this championship. Our goal must be to keep improving, make the most of every session to find the best performance from our cars and try to fight at the front. We are also very happy to have Francisco back with us. He was already part of our team last season and we are delighted to welcome him back. It will be important to help him adapt quickly to the Dallara 326 and, as always, work step by step to try to achieve the best possible results. The second half of the season is now getting underway and we approach this part of the championship with a very positive mindset, while also knowing that there is still a lot of work ahead.”
