Noah Monteiro and Griffin Core by Campos set to make the most of their title chances in Barcelona finale

Noah Monteiro and Griffin Core by Campos set to make the most of their title chances in Barcelona finale

The 2026 F4 Spain title battles will reach their conclusion this weekend at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which hosts the seventh and final round of the Spanish championship. One of the Griffin Core by Campos drivers, Noah Monteiro, arrives as the only driver with a mathematical chance of challenging current championship leader Kasper Schormans. Monteiro's teammates, Vivek Kanthan and Ty Fisher, will also be looking to score as many points as possible to support their teammate's title bid. Meanwhile, Campos Racing representatives Daniel Kelleher, Jacob Micallef and Luna Fluxá will be keen to round off their campaigns in style.

Monteiro currently sits second in the drivers' standings with 203 points, compared to Schormans' 256. As mentioned, the Portuguese Griffin Core by Campos driver is his Dutch rival's only remaining mathematical challenger. The gap between them stands at 53 points, with 75 still available. It is certainly a demanding target, but one that also means the Griffin Core by Campos driver has little to lose and plenty to gain. So far, the young Portuguese talent has claimed two victories, two second-place finishes and five third places, having scored points in sixteen of the eighteen races contested. A record that underlines his consistency and competitiveness throughout the season.

Kanthan has also enjoyed a particularly impressive second half of the campaign. The American sits sixth in the overall standings with 118 points and has been one of the standout performers since the summer break. Kanthan claimed victory in one of the races at Cheste during the championship's opening round, but his performances have become particularly consistent since the summer. His successive podium finishes at Jarama, Jerez and Navarra are clear evidence of that progress.

Kelleher has shown a similar upward trend in terms of results. The Irishman, who is making his debut in the category, has made significant progress during the second half of the season. After scoring valuable points in the early rounds, with sixth place as his best result in Valencia, he began to establish himself as a genuine podium contender at Jarama. Since that Madrid round, where he finished ninth, he has scored points in every race, including an outright podium finish at Circuito de Navarra and four other top-five results.

A podium finish is precisely what Fisher will be hoping to achieve. The Canadian, who is also making his debut in the championship, has finished fourth on three occasions and scored points in eight races. Barcelona would be the perfect place to secure that first podium and bring his season to a memorable close.

Micallef is another driver who has made his mark on the championship through his competitiveness. The Maltese driver has a third-place finish at Jarama to his name and has scored points consistently throughout the year. Although incidents have prevented him from enjoying better fortunes in recent rounds, Micallef will be determined to end the season on a positive note.

Fluxá has consistently been the leading female driver in the 2026 championship. Not only has she regularly topped that classification, but she has also been the only female driver to score points this season. Following an eighth-place finish at MotorLand Aragón, she secured ninth place on the recent visit to Los Arcos, putting in a highly competitive performance against drivers with considerably more experience.

In the teams' standings, Griffin Core by Campos occupies second place with 283 points, while Campos Racing sits sixth.

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya needs little introduction, as it is a familiar venue for every driver on the grid and a regular destination for testing throughout the season. The circuit hosted the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix every year from 1991 to 2025, and remains on the 2026 calendar as the venue for the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix. Following the modifications to the chicane in the final sector, the track currently measures 4,657 metres. Its exceptionally long main straight plays a key role in such a competitive championship as F4 Spain, where slipstreaming is crucial in the closely fought races.

Track action will begin on Friday with free practice sessions. On Saturday, the first qualifying session is scheduled to start at 09:00. The opening race, lasting 30 minutes plus one lap, will get underway at 12:00, while the second race, scheduled for 20 minutes plus one lap, will start at 15:55. On Sunday, drivers will return to the track at 09:00 for the second qualifying session. The third and final race will begin at 12:50 and will last 30 minutes plus one lap. All the action will be streamed live on the championship's official YouTube channel. All times are local (Spanish mainland time).

Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): "We head to Barcelona feeling very motivated, with several goals still ahead of us. Noah still has a mathematical chance of fighting for the title and, as long as that remains the case, we will do everything we can to make the most of it. We know it will not be easy, but he has demonstrated throughout the season that he has the speed, talent and consistency required. Vivek and Ty have also made great progress and will be important in helping us bring the championship to a successful conclusion. As for our Campos Racing drivers, we are very pleased with the work and development Daniel, Jacob and Luna have shown throughout the year. We want to finish the season with strong results, reward everyone's efforts and enjoy the final round at such a special venue as Barcelona."
