GriffinCore Campos Racing targets podiums as Eurocup-3 reaches its final stages in Jerez

The Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto will this weekend mark the beginning of the final third of the 2026 Eurocup-3 season. Following the event in southern Spain, only two rounds will remain before the championship reaches its conclusion, at the Hungaroring and in Barcelona. GriffinCore Campos Racing will bring its four Dallara 326-Toyotas to Jerez, with Alex Powell, Thomas Strauven, Enzo Tarnvanichkul and Maximilian Popov behind the wheel. The latter will make his first competitive appearance with the Alzira-based outfit.
Born on 21 August 2008, Popov already has considerable single-seater experience despite his young age. Following a strong karting career, the Russian driver made his F4 debut in 2024, competing in championships such as the Italian F4 and the UAE F4 Championship and securing his maiden victory in the category during his rookie season.
He returned to the Italian championship the following year, finishing sixth overall with five podiums to his name. In 2026, Popov stepped up to Formula Regional, where he has also secured one victory and three podium finishes. He has worked extensively with GriffinCore Campos Racing’s engineers in preparation for his debut behind the wheel of the Dallara 326-Toyota.
Powell, currently seventh in the championship standings with 62 points, will be looking to add to the two podium finishes he has already secured this season. The American finished second at Imola and third at Le Castellet, meaning that the top step of the podium is the only one still missing from his collection this year.
Tarnvanichkul also has a second-place finish as his best result so far this season, achieved at Circuit Paul Ricard. The Red Bull Junior Team member has produced several impressive comebacks throughout the campaign, and one of his main objectives in Jerez will therefore be to qualify as far up the grid as possible and put himself in a position to fight for the podium from the very beginning.
Strauven is very familiar with the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto. The Belgian driver, reigning F4 Spain champion, has adapted quickly to Eurocup-3 and has finished inside the top ten on six occasions so far. The next step will be to turn that progress into a podium finish. What better place to do so than a circuit where he already enjoyed success last year?
In the teams’ standings, GriffinCore Campos Racing currently sits fourth with 152 points.
Measuring 4.428 kilometres and featuring 13 corners, Jerez demands maximum precision from the setup, a finely balanced car through its medium- and high-speed corners and careful management of rear tyre degradation, which is crucial over the longer race stints. Saturday and Sunday’s qualifying sessions will once again be particularly important, as the Jerez layout, despite offering clear braking opportunities at corners such as Dry Sack and Jorge Lorenzo, generally rewards those starting from the front rows of the grid.
The drivers will take to the track on Friday for two free practice sessions. The first qualifying session will take place on Saturday at 09:30, followed by the opening race at 11:55, which will run for 30 minutes plus one lap. The second race is scheduled for 15:00 on Saturday and will last 20 minutes plus one lap. The weekend will conclude on Sunday with the second qualifying session at 10:30 and the third race, lasting 30 minutes plus one lap, at 13:40. All times are local Spanish time. All three races will be streamed live on the official Eurocup-3 YouTube channel.
Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “We are heading to Jerez with a lot of enthusiasm and with the objective of making the most of the final events of the season. We have worked hard with Alex, Thomas and Enzo to take another step forward and fight for podiums, and we also have Maximilian joining us. He has done a very good job with our engineers over the past few weeks, so it will be interesting to see how he adapts to the Dallara 326-Toyota in his first race with the team. Jerez is a very demanding circuit and one that all the drivers know well, so we hope our four cars can be competitive from the very beginning and that we can enjoy a strong weekend. We want to finish the season in the best possible way and continue demonstrating GriffinCore Campos Racing’s potential in Eurocup-3.”
