GriffinCore Campos Racing Aims to Extend Its Podium Run at the Hungaroring

The 2026 Eurocup-3 season is drawing to a close, with the penultimate round of the campaign taking place this coming weekend. For the first time in the championship’s history, the series will visit the Hungaroring, a new addition to its calendar. GriffinCore Campos Racing will field its four Dallara 326-Toyota cars for Thomas Strauven, Enzo Tarnvanichkul, Maximilian Popov and newcomer Kabir Anurag, who will make his series debut representing the Alzira-based team.
Anurag, 19, has gained experience in several motorsport championships since making his single-seater debut in 2023. He first competed in the Italian F4 Championship towards the end of that season before completing a full campaign the following year. In 2024, he also finished third overall in the Formula Trophy UAE, claiming two victories, and has continued to progress through different categories since then, including the Formula Regional European Championship and the Middle East Trophy. As the next step in his development, the Singaporean driver will make his debut in Budapest at the wheel of a GriffinCore Campos Racing Dallara 326-Toyota.
They say persistence pays off, and Thomas Strauven is a perfect example. The Belgian driver, who won the F4 Spain title in 2025, had come close to securing a podium on several occasions this season. His perseverance was rewarded at Jerez last month, where he claimed his first Eurocup-3 podium by finishing second in the opening race of the weekend. Buoyed by that result and confident that the team is moving in the right direction, the young Belgian talent will be looking to build on that momentum and fight for further top-three finishes in Hungary.
Enzo Tarnvanichkul also stood on the podium for GriffinCore Campos Racing at Jerez. The Thai driver, a member of the Red Bull Junior Team, finished third, securing his second podium of the season after taking second place at Le Castellet. Since racing resumed following the summer break, Tarnvanichkul has been in excellent form and continued to make steady progress, scoring points in each of the last six races.
Maximilian Popov could hardly have asked for a better introduction to Eurocup-3. On his first outing in the rapid Dallara 326-Toyota, the driver secured a podium finish by taking second place at the Circuito de Jerez. Following such a promising debut, Popov will be another driver to watch at the Hungaroring as he aims to challenge for the leading positions once again In the Teams’ Championship, GriffinCore Campos Racing currently sits third with a total of 204 points.
Although the circuit in Mogyoród, on the outskirts of Budapest, is a new addition to the Eurocup-3 calendar, it is by no means unfamiliar territory for GriffinCore Campos Racing. Measuring 4.381 kilometres, the Hungaroring has been the regular home of the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix since it first opened in 1986.
The circuit features 14 corners and, although it is often described as ‘Monaco without the walls’, it offers several opportunities to overtake. One of the most notable is at the end of the main straight, at the Nelson Piquet corner, named after the Brazilian three-time world champion who overtook compatriot Ayrton Senna around the outside during the 1986 Grand Prix. Another overtaking opportunity comes at Turn 4, known as Nigel Mansell, where a strong exit from Turn 3, named Spring, can help drivers set up a move. The weather forecast points to sunny skies and typical autumn temperatures, averaging around 15°C.
Track action will begin on Thursday with two collective test sessions. Friday will provide further opportunities to fine-tune the car’s set-up, with two 40-minute free practice sessions scheduled for 10:28 and 14:09. Competitive action will begin on Saturday with the first qualifying session at 10:16. The opening race, lasting 30 minutes plus one lap, will follow that afternoon at 14:05. Sunday will feature the second qualifying session at 08:52, before the final race of the weekend gets underway at 12:36, with the same duration. All times are in mainland Spanish time. Both races will be streamed live on the official Eurocup-3 YouTube channel.
Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “We head to the Hungaroring feeling very motivated after the results we achieved at Jerez. Thomas, Enzo and Maximilian showed that we have the pace to fight for podiums, and our goal is to maintain that momentum at a circuit that is new to the championship. Thomas has worked very well throughout the season, and his first podium was a well-deserved reward. Enzo is showing great consistency and continues to make progress, while Maximilian enjoyed a fantastic debut and proved that he can fight at the front. We are also delighted to welcome Kabir, who will have a great opportunity to continue developing and adapting to the series. We want to make the most of this weekend, score as many points as possible and keep moving forward in the Championship.”
