New Zealander finished 8th on Sunday following his win yesterday. His teammate Gealel was forced to retire after spinning in very adverse conditions
The sprint race of the GP2 race at Red Bull Ring saw New Zealand´s Mitch Evans collecting points in difficult weather conditions. Evans drove another strong race at the wheel of his Pertamina Campos Racing-entered Dallara GP2/11. On the other hand, Indonesian Sean Gelael was forced to retire from race two but still drew an extremely positive balance with his maiden podium in the GP2 series yesterday.
Gelael and Evans started 7th and 8th on the reverse grid but unfortunately, under heavy rain conditions, Indonesia´s racer spun off the track. It´s worth mentioning many drivers struggled to stay on the track due to tricky conditions. Evans, after the safety car period, was running in sixth and his battle with Alex Lynn was a real eye-catcher. After 28 laps, Evans took the checkered flag 8th. By scoring that point, Evans moved up to second in the drivers´ standings on 56 points. Gelael is 12th on 24 points and Pertamina Campos Racing is fourth in teams´ standings on 80 points.
Silverstone, the Home of British motorsports, will host round five next weekend.
