Rosenqvist and Heidfeld have achieved three podium finishes including two wins throughout the season and it sparks optimism ahead of the race in the streets of Punta del Este
Mahindra Racing will make their second visit to South America this season for the fifth round of the Formula E Championship, the all-electric series sanctioned by the FIA. Mahindra Racing, whose M4ELECTRO cars are run in collaboration with QEV Technologies – in which Campos Racing forms part of the shareholding and also provides its staff and technology- is completing a strong first half of the season with Felix Rosenqvist and Nick Heidfeld.
Rosenqvist still sits second in the Drivers’ standings on 69 points with two wins to his tally Hong Kong ePrix and Marrakesh ePrix events. Despite his race in Mexico came to an early end and couldn’t add extra points, Rosenqvist is ready to deliver another strong showing. Heidfeld secured a podium result at season-opener and feels optimistic heading into the weekend. Last but not least, Mahindra Racing lie second on 90 points in the Teams’ standings and Uruguay provides another chance of bridging the 9-point deficit that currently separates them from Techeetah.
Uruguay’s Punta del Este Street Circuit is nicknamed the Monte Carlo of South America and with its 2.8km in length features 20 turns.
The Punta del Este ePrix is scheduled at 16.03 (local time).
