Rosenqvist and Heidfeld will be stepping into unknown with their M4ELECTRO cars as the Swiss street circuit is a novelty of this season’s FIA Formula E calendar
Mahindra Racing, whose M4ELECTRO cars are run in collaboration with QEV Technologies – in which Campos Racing forms part of the shareholding also provides its staff and technology-, is taking a fresh approach to the last part of the season with only two rounds remaining in Zurich and New York’s double-header. The Zurich ePrix marks a milestone as it’s the return of a top-tier championship to Switzerland after 63 years, a country that banned motor racing in 1955 following Le Mans disaster.
The circuit, which is 2.46km long, features 11 corners with several exciting 90-degree bends and long, quick sections through Mythenqual and Alfred-Esser-Strasse; it runs along the Lake Zurich.
Swede’s Rosenqvist still lies third in the Drivers’ Championship on 86 points with two wins to his name. German former Formula 1 racer Heidfeld sits 11th with a season-best third place. Mahindra Racing occupies fourth place in the Teams’ Championship standings.
The Zurich ePrix is scheduled on Saturday at 18.04 (CET).
