Campos Academy driver takes maiden victory in the Italian F.4 Series after an exciting last lap
Colombian´s Kevin Kanayet has secured his first win at one of the most famous race tracks on the boot-shaped peninsula: the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari.
With yesterday´s tenth place giving him reverse grid pole for race two, Kanayet (Malta Formula Racing) kept his rivals at bay at the start. Giuliano Raucci was his closest rival but he lost time due to engine problems. By then, Alex Peroni emerged as another strong rival for win but the safety car was deployed following a massive accident suffered by Joao Vieira. The safety car headed into the pit lane and Kanayet managed to retain his first place ahead of Peroni, on a very exciting last lap battle.
Later, in Race 3, he was 11th on the starting grid and move up to 8th after 17 laps.
The season comes to an end at Misano on 3-4 October.
