The Race of Russia takes place at the Moscow Raceway and Corsica´s John Filippi and Campos Racing aim for their first podium of the season
John Filippi, at the wheel of the Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1 run by Campos Racing, will contest the sixth round of the World Touring Car Championship at the Moscow Raceway, the Hermann Tilke-designed track and located 70 kilometers from the Russian capital.
The Race of Russia made its debut on the calendar in 2013 and brings back many great memories for Campos Racing. In 2014, Filippi already took two podiums finishes in TC2T class with Hugo Valente claiming pole position for race two. France´s Valente stepped onto the podium in privateer class last year.
Filippi, after five rounds, lies fourth in WTCC Trophy class on 39 points. The Alzira-baed team also places third in WTCC Teams´ Trophy.
RML-built Chevrolet cars will carry zero compensation weight in Russia.
Saturday´s qualifying session takes place on Saturday at 14.00 (local time) and both races are slated for Sunday at 12.15 and 13.30 local time.
