Campos Racing is officially formed in 1997. Adrian Campos Motorsport joins the “Open Fortuna by Nissan”. Adrian elects Marc Gené, and the young and promising Karting driver Antonio García. Gené was the champion in that very first season and he made his jump to Formula 1. Garcia finished in fifth position and the team won the title.

The team repeated championship, although it changed name to “Euro Open Movistar by Nissan”. Garcia continued another year and his teammate was another young driver with an excellent balance in Karting, his name was … Fernando Alonso. Without having previous experience racing, Alonso emerged as Euro Open Movistar by Nissan champion with six wins on his first season. Garcia finished fifth and Campos Motorsport also held the title. Later, the Spaniard went on to compete in the now defunct Formula 3000. The following year, he was given the opportunity to compete in Formula 1, becoming world champion with Renault in 2005, just as Adrian predicted in 1999.

In 2000, the team based in Alzira relies again on Antonio Garcia to retain the driver´s title and signature French Patrice Gay. In 2002 the championship was renamed to World Series. That season Antonio García returned to the team after a year in Formula 3000. Polo Villamil was the second driver. The season ended with Garcia in fifth place in the driver´s championship.

The team changed its name and became Campos Racing. In 2005 the team entered in the GP2 Series Championship, the drivers were Sergio Hernandez and Juan Cruz Alvarez. In the Spanish Formula 3 Championship, Álvaro Barba and Roldan Rodriguez who finished seventh and the team won the second place on the teams title. For the Spanish Cup , Arturo Llobell took the title and his teammate Marco Barba finished third.

Campos Racing competed one more season in the most important and demanding categories of motorsport. In the GP2 Series, with Mitch Evans and Sean Gelael, the team got a fantastic first-second podium in Red Bull Ring. In the GP3 Series, the selection of drivers was Alex Palou (one podium), Steijn Schothorst and Konstantin Tereshchenko. On the other hand, the French driver John Filippi was in charge of the WTCC Campos Racing car. In the Euroformula Open, Leonardo Pulchini won the championship with seven wins and six podiums. The Alzira squad also obtained the team title, with the help of Diego Menchaca (four podiums), Julio Moreno and Gülhüseyn Abdullayev.

The team founded by Adrián Campos continued in the most prestigious championships in Motorsport. The brand-new F2 looked how Álex Palou made his debut with an excepcional pole for Jerez sprint race getting points for the standings. In GP3 Series, Campos returned to the highest of the podium with Raoul Hyman, and Julien Falchero showed an excellent performance in his first year. Besides, in Euroformula Open and the Spanish F3 championships, Campos Racing became again in a strong and consistent team achieving podiums by Mateus Iorio and Simo Laaksonen, who will be oficial GP3 Campos driver for the next season, and Thiago Vivacqua (winner at Hungaroring race). On the other hand, the Argentinian Esteban Guerrieri surprised in a competed WTCC with three races won.
