Both Mahindra Racing cars run by Campos Racing delivered a strong performance on American soil. Turvey finished 12th with his NEXTEV TCR Formula E Team and Piquet Jr was forced to retire

Campos Racing drew a completely positive balance at the end of the weekend in the United States as Germany´s Nick Heidfeld and Brazil´s Bruno Senna managed to grab a top 5 finish in the Mahindra Racing cars, which are run by the Alzira-based team. In qualifying, “Quick Nick” secured 4th on the grid with Senna 11th. Both NEXTEV TCR Formula E Team cars qualified 13th (Oliver Turvey) and 17th (Nelson Piquet Jr.).

When the 41-lap race got underway, Heidfeld managed to secure his fourth place ahead of Robin Frijns with Senna overtaking two cars on the opening lap. Unfortunately, Heidfeld dropped four places battling with Frijns. With both Mahindra Racing cars running 8th and 9th, they both gained two places as Sébastien Buemi and Frijns crashed. Besides, as they were able to stay out longer than the rest of the field, took first and second before pitting, rejoining fifth and 6th. Still, they managed to gain another place when Sam Bird crashed into tire wall, finally finishing fourth and fifth. With this result, Heidfeld now lies 7th overall.

Turvey took 12th place at the end of the race and Piquet Jr crashed to bring out the safety car.

The FIA Formula E resumes in three weeks´ time in Paris.
