Both Nextel TCR Formula E Team and Mahindra Racing cars will be run by Campos Racing this season in the Formula E, the all-electric series
The second season of the Formula E kicks off in Beijing next weekend and Campos Racing eyes a perfect start to title defense, as the Spanish team took the win with Brazilian Nelson Piquet. This season, Campos Racing will partner Chinese Nextel TCR Formula E and Indian Mahindra Racing. Last year, Nextel TCR Formula E Team cars were run by the Spanish team and Piquet achieved the title and, in 2015/16 season, he will team up with Briton Oliver Turvey, who delivered a strong performance in the streets of London in the season finale last June.
One of the most famous surnames in motorsport, Senna, will be at Mahindra Racing as Bruno will drive one of the cars of the Indian team. Another former Formula 1 driver, Nick Heidfeld, will join the Brazilian at the team. Engineers and mechanics of Campos Racing will work with both stars to success throughout the season, expected to be as closely-fought as the inaugural one.
Except for private testing on Friday, track activity will take place on Saturday. New Super Pole, to be held after four qualifying sessions, is the main novelty. Saturday´s race will get underway at 16.00 (local time).
