Brazil´s duo of Vivacqua and Iorio and Romania´s Petru Florescu will be joined by Simo Laaksonen on French soil
Campos Racing heads to Le Castellet for a second event of 2017 Euroformula F3 Open´s Winter Series in order to put additional mileage under their belt before season start in late April. Campos Racing will enter their four Dallara F312 cars at Paul Ricard HTTT for full-season drivers Petru Florescu, Matheus Iorio and Thiago Vivacqua, who already excelled at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya two weeks ago. This time, Finnish driver Simo Laaksonen will join Campos Racing to make his debut in the Euroformula F3 Open. F4 graduate Laaksonen delivered strong performances in national Formula 4 series such as the ADAC Formel 4 or the Championnat de France F4.
As preseason testing kicked off in Barcelona, Campos Racing drivers were immediately on the pace and actually Romania´s Florescu topped opening of preseason testing. Both Vivacqua and Iorio also made it into the top five after two days of testing.
Four test sessions on Friday and a final fifth one on Saturday morning will be an excellent appetizer before the sole qualifying session scheduled at 11.00. Both races will take place at 15.00 and 17.25, consisting of 14 laps each.
